"McCoy," as he is known by his students, lives in Southwest Virginia with his family.  He is passionate about building the future of housing through industrialized construction, 3D printing, and smart workforce development. A professor, researcher, and all-around housing innovator who’s shaking up the way we build homes. He leads the Virginia Center for Housing Research at Virginia Tech, where he’s working on everything from 3D-printed houses to smart home tech and workforce training. Whether it’s making housing more affordable, more sustainable, or just plain smarter, Dr. McCoy turning big ideas into real-world impact.
